Earth Day Arcade Directions
1. Start by checking your recycling bin at home. Look at the items and ask yourself if you could use any of them to somehow make a game.
Here are some ideas for materials that you may include:
Cardboard boxes, containers (yogurt, milk jugs, butter, etc), straws, newspapers, cans, yarn. You may use other items not listed here as well. Any scientific methods, simple machines, original materials you include will help jazz up your creation!
2. Think of an idea! What do you see at a regular arcade that you like to play? Can you make a different version of it? You can use tossing, rolling, grabbing, pulling, etc in your game. Your game can have a theme if you wish such as animals, space, you dream it up!
3. Sketch your game and then talk to someone about how your game works. Parents and older siblings please feel free to help and participate! Create something that will amaze your friends!
4. Bring your game to school on Hallsville’s Earth Day, April 30.
Remember other children will be playing your game. No prizes will be awarded, BUT you will have had so much fun making your game that it will seem like you have already won something!
